The Austin Stone Worship Intensive is a 2-day training where we invite a small group of worship leaders, songwriters, and storytellers into our family to learn and grow together to better serve our ministries and churches for the glory of God.

This year we are offering three different tracks to choose from:

Each track is geared to help you grow in your unique calling and leadership, whether you consider yourself a novice or an experienced leader. See each track below to see which one best fits your current development needs.

*Please note you can only choose one track per Intensive since they all occur during the same time*

      Worship Leading Track

The Worship Leading Track is made for worship leaders and teams looking to grow in cultivating healthy culture, casting vision, and developing as shepherds and pastors.

Through 6 different masterclass sessions, you will spend 2 days learning about:

      • Setting culture & casting vision
      • Centering your ministry on the Word
      • Developing leaders in your team
      • Pursuing godly excellence
      • Engaging with your people
      • Building togetherness

We will also walk through our foundations that shape who we are and what we do at the Austin Stone and have hands-on applications you can take home to your team.

There will be several opportunities for Q&A with our leadership both in large group and a one-on-one setting. Finally, we will share a handful of meals together that will allow for even more time to process together.

Our hope is to help worship leaders work out some of the many complex and unique difficulties they face. We realize we still have a lot to learn, but we also want to be a resource to the Church in the things that God has allowed us to experience over the last 15 years.

*Additional Sessions on Thursday from 2-5pm

      • Worship Leading Assessment – This 3-hour session allows you to receive coaching and feedback on your worship leading from our worship staff in a small group setting. After signing up you will receive an email with further instructions on how to prepare.
      • Ableton Live 101 – This 3-hour session led by Will Doggett, an Ableton certified trainer, will walk through the basic ins/outs of Ableton Live for use in a live worship setting.

      Songwriting Track

The Songwriting Track exists to inspire and equip worship pastors to lead by creating. As creative pastors we have the unique opportunity and high calling to know the people we shepherd and write songs for them to sing to God as worship. We hope these few days together will jump-start a consistent songwriting rhythm for you and your team.

Over the span of two days filled with multiple teaching sessions, meals together, and hours of actually writing, you will receive:

      • A place of respite and inspiration for songwriting
      • Practical tools and applicable concepts
      • Collaboration with other songwriters
      • Constructive critical feedback
      • Answers and advice for writing and implementing original songs in your context

We are not songwriting experts, nor do we claim to have all the answers. What we have to offer is a decade’s worth of writing and arranging, trying and succeeding, falling and failing. As we share what we’ve learned, our hope is to demystify the process and deconstruct the barriers so that the glory of the Uncreated, through the creative gifts of those He masterfully created, might be in fuller display in the Church.

      Storytelling Track

The Storytelling Track, led by The Austin Stone Story Team, is aimed at identifying and equipping artists in your church to tell redemptive stories of gospel transformation through film, photography, written stories, and any creative medium.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

The Austin Stone Story Team is a team of filmmakers, writers, editors, and photographers who have produced over 300 hundred stories about God’s faithfulness in the last ten years.⠀

Stories move people to worship Jesus everyday. The gospel transforms lives every day, but we are a forgetful people. And real stories of God’s faithfulness remind us of the truth that the gospel changes our hearts and sets us free.

But if you want to tell stories that lead your people to worship Jesus, you must find a way to identify, equip, and empower the artists already in your church.

Over the span of this two-day training roundtable with a small group of church leaders from around the country, you will learn about:

      • Gospel storytelling
      • Identifying artists to serve in your church
      • Finding stories that will lead people to worship
      • Team culture and artist care
      • Developing artists as leaders and creatives
      • Leading volunteer artists

As we share our successes and failures, we look forward to helping you build a storytelling culture and ministry for your church!
